Seller Policy
Last updated: October 2026
Opening a shop means agreeing to these rules on top of the Terms of Service. They exist so buyers can trust every shop on Filagora — and so honest makers aren't undercut by people who cut corners.
1. Who can sell
- Anyone 18 or older (or the age of majority where you live), from anywhere in the world.
- One shop per person or business. You don't need a company — individuals are welcome.
- Opening a shop takes five steps: your shop name; your legal name, date of birth, country of residence and billing address; a payout account (a US bank account in your name and the IRS tax form); an identity check with a photo ID and a selfie (run by Stripe Identity — we receive the result, not your ID images); and a one-time, non-refundable US$14 setup fee, paid by card. Your shop opens when all five are done. Listings you create before then wait as drafts.
- The name on your ID must match your details and your payout account. We may ask you to verify again, and we may suspend a shop whose identity can't be confirmed.
- We may ask for more information when the law requires it — for example bank, tax and contact details from high-volume sellers in the US (INFORM Consumers Act), or trader details for sellers who sell to the EU (Digital Services Act). Shops that don't provide it in time may be paused.
2. What you can sell
Things you 3D print, and digital 3D files you designed. The Maker Standards explain exactly what counts — including how to sell prints of licensed and openly licensed designs. The Prohibited Items Policy lists what can never be sold, starting with weapons and weapon parts.
3. Fees and payouts
Listing is free. When you sell, we charge a 6% transaction fee on printed items (8% on digital files) and 3% + $0.25 payment processing — nothing else. No subscription, and no offsite-ads fee. Filagora collects buyers' payments as your payment collection agent and pays your balance weekly to a US bank account in your name. Details, holds and refunds: Fees & Payments.
4. Listings
- Use your own, real photos of the actual print. Physical listings need at least one real photo; renders are fine as extra images, never as the only one.
- Describe it accurately: material, colours, size, finish and print technology (FDM, resin, SLS…).
- Answer the "How it's made" questions honestly: who designed it, who prints it, and how much of it is printed.
- If the design was generated with AI, say so in the listing.
- If a production partner prints for you, name them and where they are. You stay responsible for every order.
5. Processing and shipping
- Ship within the processing time on your listing. If you can't, tell the buyer before it runs out, or cancel — the buyer is refunded in full.
- Mark an order shipped only when it has actually been handed to the carrier, and add tracking when you do.
- Write your returns policy on your shop's About tab, and follow it.
- Buyers in the EU and UK generally have the right to cancel within 14 days of delivery without giving a reason. This doesn't apply to personalised items made to their specification, or to digital files once the download has started.
6. Service and reviews
Buyers should be able to count on every shop. We expect you to:
- answer buyer messages within 48 hours (vacation mode pauses new orders while you're away);
- ship at least 90% of orders on time;
- keep cancellations low — cancel only when you truly can't fulfil an order.
Reviews must be earned. Don't buy reviews, offer discounts or gifts for them, review your own shop, or ask a buyer to change or remove a review in exchange for a refund or anything else (that's review extortion — and buyers can't threaten a bad review to get something extra, either). Report a review you think breaks the rules instead of replying in kind.
7. Keep sales on Filagora
If a buyer finds you on Filagora, the sale happens on Filagora. This protects them (Purchase Protection only covers Filagora orders) and keeps our fees low for everyone.
- Don't steer buyers to your website, social accounts, email or another marketplace to complete a sale, and don't include outside payment links or details in listings, messages or packages.
- Don't avoid fees — for example by lowering the item price and inflating shipping, or charging extra outside Filagora.
- Custom orders are welcome: agree the details in messages, then create a listing for it on Filagora for the buyer to purchase.
8. Safety
- Toys for children under 12 must comply with the law where you sell them — CPSIA in the US (third-party lab testing and a Children's Product Certificate), CE marking and EN 71 in the EU. If you can't show that, list the item as "Collectible — not a toy, 14+". Resin prints can't be sold as children's products.
- Don't claim an item is "food safe" unless both the material and the coating are certified for food contact. Otherwise say "decorative — not for food contact".
- Resin prints must be fully washed and cured before they ship.
- Products sold to the EU need product-safety information (GPSR): the manufacturer and, for sellers outside the EU, an EU responsible person. We'll ask for it on your listings when we switch this on.
9. Taxes
You're responsible for income tax on your sales and for any business registration your country requires. Where the law makes Filagora the marketplace facilitator or deemed supplier (US sales tax, EU and UK VAT on certain sales), we collect and remit that tax on those orders — you don't need to. Where required, we report sellers' sales to tax authorities (for example Form 1099-K in the US, DAC7 in the EU).
10. Enforcement
Most problems are fixed with a message. When they aren't, we act in proportion to the problem and the shop's history:
- a warning explaining what to fix;
- reduced visibility in search and recommendations;
- listing removal;
- a hold or reserve on payouts (used for fraud, infringement or unresolved buyer claims);
- suspension or closure of the shop.
Serious violations — weapons, fraud, counterfeits — can skip straight to suspension. Every action comes with a statement of reasons: what we did, which rule, and how to appeal. Appeal by replying or emailing support@filagora.com; a person reviews every appeal.
